About Samantha

Samantha Ettus
Samantha Ettus is obsessed. If she loves something – a person, a thing, an experience, a feeling — she is driven to tell everyone about it. After all, wouldn’t they want to meet them, see it, experience it, feel it too? Like the objects of her obsession, Samantha has crafted a profession from her passion, founding the first-ever marketing firm focused on personality-driven brands, then working with over 400 experts from different fields in her bestselling Experts’ Guide book Series, and, most recently, revealing people with exceptional personal brands through her work as a syndicated columnist and on-air correspondent.

Now, Samantha has finally landed her dream job. As the co-creator, co-producer and host of OBSESSED TV, Samantha spreads her passion for passionate people through informal, in-depth interviews with the leaders of fashion, media, medicine, parenting, food, work, love and every facet that shapes our everyday. And she gets to do it alongside Gary Vaynerchuk – whose nation of Vayniacs pays tribute to his obsession, wine, by the millions every month — as she and Gary V host the first web talk show that highlights the most intriguing people in America.

Samantha’s ability to access and connect meaningfully with celebrities, personalities and authorities in virtually every lifestyle field has been a critical element in her success as the creator of the bestselling Experts’ Guides, published by Random House. Her fourth and most recent book, The Experts’ Guide to Doing Things Faster, includes advice written by 100 of the world’s leading experts including Sir Richard Branson, Barbara Corcoran, Ming Tsai and the world’s leading crossword puzzle champion. Samantha’s first book, The Experts’ Guide to 100 Things Everyone Should Know How to Do, included chapters written by luminaries including Larry King, Donald Trump and Jennifer Capriati, among many others. The first book in the series recently went into its 17th printing and is available in more than nine languages.

Prior to launching her career as an author and TV correspondent Samantha founded Ettus Media Management, a first-of-its-kind talent agency and marketing firm for personality-driven brands, representing talent ranging from chefs to business gurus. While running her firm Samantha penned “Celebrity Assets,” a weekly column for Scripps Howard News Service, which focused on how celebrities manage their personal brands.

Samantha is a highly sought after speaker on the subjects of personal branding, networking, cold calling and pursuing your passion. She has appeared frequently on a variety of national TV shows including the TODAY Show, The Early Show, The O’Reilly Factor, Inside Edition, and Your World with Neil Cavuto. Samantha and her work have been covered in Us Magazine, Crain’s, Inc., and The New York Times.

Samantha was the host of the iVillage “iCelebrate” series for NBC and has been a television correspondent on WNBC’s and NYCTV’s New York 360°. Her on-air work includes interviews with a broad range of celebrities including Petra Nemcova, Al Roker, Colin Cowie, Marian Wright Edelman and Daniel Boulud, to name a few. Samantha previously wrote a bi-weekly column about balancing work and family for Modern Mom and was a contributing editor to 02138 Magazine.

Samantha holds a BA in Social Anthropology and an MBA, both from Harvard University. She lives in New York with her husband, Mitch Jacobs, and their two young daughters.
