1. Excellent choice of guest! A very intelligent guy, with something great to say… I was definitely intrigued.
2. Wow, those interview questions were horrible for the most part… Samantha definitely comes across as someone completely out of touch with anything to do with green… Obsessed? Are you really? I mean, I don’t expect you to become an environmentalist before meeting with the guy, but c’mon. It seemed like this guy was being interviewed by one of the girls from ‘The Hills.’ Actually, one of them may well have done a better job.
3. How about letting the guy finish a thought?
4. Asking him about what type of girls he’s interested in? Yeah, I’m sure he took you seriously… see his expression? He’s like WTF?
5. In reference to not showering often, Samantha asks if Graham feels like ‘literally’ a drop in the bucket, how does that feel… wow, I can just imagine what he thought to himself there.
6. Another awkward transition to Gary; and no Gary not everyone has dollar signs in their eyes…
7. I’m sure Graham can’t wait to be back!
8. Gary, honestly, I’m rooting for you… but you should definitely consider hiring a writer and or researcher; the questions are weak… and Samantha, I think you’re a smart girl… you went to Harvard after all. How about trying harder to come across as one? A little more effort in preparing for your guests would come along way.
9. Again, excellent choice of guest… and a far cry from yesterdays.
10. How come you released an episode today (Friday)? Isn’t it supposed to be Tues. + Thurs.? I guess anything to distract attention from yesterdays episode was necessary…

Great choice of guest, I’m a huge fan of Graham Hill. I agree that the questions could have been better researched, and let him talk more.

It was fascinating to hear Graham draw a parallel between a fad of the 80s (calorie counting) and hopefully a new trend, carbon counting! It would be awesome if we could see keeping an eye on our (mis)usage become mainstream, or like Graham said, part of our vocabulary.
Good job Samantha on continuing to bring inspiring entrepreneurial guests to your show. Its amazing to hear how people build mini empires from one simple idea!

Here’s what I did:
I immediately started following TreeHugger on Twitter
Wondered when *my ship* will come in or as GaryVee says crush it! I am figuring what my next chapter in this thing called life is.
Anyway…
Loved the laptop bag and thought of what life was like for my grandfather
when he was one of the first people to have a television (black and white mind you)
realizing with everything in technology the next WOW is only a moment away.
My ipod 30G My son’s 80G other son 120G in a matter of two years or less
Thanks for introducing me to an interesting fellow. Things he said validated the core of me, myself and I.
I will remember the name Graham Hill. Thank you.
Just what I needed today!

The comparison of Samantha Ettus to a girl from ‘The Hills’ was unfortunate, because now it’s all I can see in her.
Great guest, though!

Great interview! Graham really looks like Matt Leinert (NFL qb). LOL. Keep up the diverse interviews.

Thanks for all of your comments. i so appreciate them - they really help the show.
i have known Graham for about a year - he contributed a chapter on “going green” to my last book. i have been obsessed with him since. For a week before the interview i couldn’t stop thinking about what it would be like to BE Graham. i would see waste and think how hard that must be every day if you are Graham.
There are plenty of interviews that ask Graham what TreeHugger is, how to go green, and why, but i felt that you could find that info on your own. My goal was to get a sense of what it was like to walk down the street and see someone litter when you have devoted your life to protecting the environment. And could Graham Hill date someone who flushed every time she peed? Graham is a handsome bachelor…even though i am a happily married mother of two, i cared to know, so i thought many of you would too!
My husband felt this interview was a bit flirty. This was my fourth-ever Obsessed interview; we taped it in October. And when you compare it to my Mark Bittman interview, i can see the difference. When i watch it, i am slightly embarrassed by the “i wore this for you line.” But we don’t edit much on Obsessed, so it will stay:)

Although many comments continue to be quite harsh in their tone, 95% of them are making good points. I reckon most of the people are here because they want to see this succeed.
Take it on-board continually improve and do NOT give up. I reckon you 2 (Samantha and Gary) are onto something. Just gotta harness the power ot the community and cut through the rudeness
Being from Australia, I have no idea what The Hills is, but I can guess.(made me laugh actually)
Steve is a bit of a very harsh critic, but at least he is back again. Nice
As an example, take the line of thinking “What would David Frost ask” Be inquisitive. A line of thought might have been what he thought about the Obama administrations first 100 days in office in relation to the environment. Does he think China will ever come to the table on carbon emissions. What are the top 5 things regular Americans can do to help us get greener. And finally to lighten things up, “what is the largest tree you have ever hugged”
Go Guys - cant wait for the next one.

Looks like Graham’s idea about tracking your own carbon footprint is taking off already! Just heard this on NPR:

Gary,
You should have poured Samantha’s wine first. That’s my mother speaking.
Good interview too…Congrats on the site.

I DISAGREE with several of the comments that imply, “let the guest talk more.” Part of a good interview is pushing the subject along so that lots of ground can be covered – either deeper or broader. I thought Samantha’s interviewing style made the whole thing more interesting to watch, and some of her “curve ball” questions added a level of personal-ness that makes the show special.

The interview was lively and fun and the more mainstream the idea gets
the better it is.!!!!!!!!!!!
pass these ideas forward..
to harness other people into understanding this…
I would like to see more
“GRAHAM HILL”…
more often!
