Julianne Moore, Ed Norton, Jerry Bruckheimer and Mike Myers entered an inner circle of city residents that have signature gardens by rooftop gardener to the stars, Jon Carloftis. Jon has appeared on Good Morning America, Martha Stewart Living and HGTV and is the author of two books: Beyond the Windowsill and First a Garden. His gardening roots were set tending farm at his parent’s family business, a replica Native American village built from restored structures. Jon grew up without running water and no TV (he had never been on a roof when he signed his first client). Jon was a contributor to my last book and I became obsessed with his uncanny rise from country bumpkin to genre-creating entrepreneur.

Great guest, where has he been? I like how you paired Gary in this segment to taste wine based on Jon’s personality. Great jobs guys!

Lovely interview. I love the fact that he’s doing something that he wants to do, loved how he got started with simple business cards. And having Gary come in with a glass of wine is fabulous!!! p.s. LOVE YOUR HAIR!!!
