Hey, Samantha! Great video with Bittman! Glad you got into what really matters about food right now. He, along with Michael Pollan and many others, are changing the way we think not only about cooking food, but also about what we choose to eat.
Best of luck with the show! I look forward to seeing what you and Gary come up with.

I really love the ‘Spain: On the Road Again’ series. That show is like watching a dream sequence - beautiful food, women, cars, wine and country!
I’m so jealous of this guy being able to spend all that time with Claudia Bassols. If you got paid for this gig - wow.
Anyway, great show Mark and Samantha!

Very cool interview. Thanks for bringing Bittman to the table, very interesting to hear about his past. I’ll have to check out his book.

My feedback is as follows: I don’t know the host or the guest and with the fight for our time and attention, doubtful that I would watch future episodes unless there was a specific guests I really wanted to see and hear.

I’m not a women and I’m not really that old but I really like cooking and Mark seems to be a really great guy. He gives some great input in to his show. Thanks for the great interview Mark Bittman.

I watch cooking shows. I like cooking shows. I have never heard of this person. His bio is impressive enough but I get the feeling that if you are not in this circle, you may not relate to this show. If this were the only episode I watched I would definetely think this is a very niche show and probably would not come back daily. I think Samantha is personable and warm and does well interviewing. Maybe I am clueless. I will watch another.

Very good talk. I haven’t hear of Bittman either, but I am a convert. I’ll be reading his column.

You guys would definitely know the quality guy that is “Bittman” if you check out Spain: On the Road Again. Super programming for PBS, and great HDTV quality. Surely you know of Mario Batali?

He seems pissed off by that question about the next greatest chef. It takes a few minutes for him to thaw out.
I would’ve inserted this in the exact spot in the video but it’s not clear how to register. There needs to be a link to register if you’re not logged in. I don’t have to log on to leave this comment.
Now I’m the one sounding grouchy…lol

“No editing!” sounded like Gary in the background. Classic.

I’ve watched all three episodes now. All are excellent. Samantha is very good at keeping the flow, not interrupting too often and being quick with good questions and follow-ups. Camera work and editing are also very professional. I even like the music and intro/outro! All in all, very enjoyable. Looking forward to more.

I love Bittman’s writing and his subject matter. He and I are on the same wavelength, although I have been walking the walk and talking the talk for the past 20 years as a Registered Dietitian, food writer and cooking teacher. He just has access to a broader swath of the world through media exposure.
I hope that you continue to have great guests. Your energy made Bittman look a bit dry.

Very interesting conversation, although….
Mark I have two words for you: “Mike Chocolate.” The average chocolate bar sure as heck has animal product in it… as along as we’re still count MILK as an animal product!
